Creeping through the dimly lit back alley I wasn't really sure what we were getting into. Little did I know the fun that would ensue throughout the evening.
While the club itself is hardly tres chic, the staff were friendly and helpful. Introducing us to a locally brewed lager and the delicate art of curling While I do think that the intro was helpful it appeared as though most of the learning happened while slipping and sliding on the ice.
The only real downside for me was the time factor. We were scheduled to begin at 9:30 pm, but by the time we were able to get on the ice it was well after 10:00 pm and there were still other curlers throwing alongside us.
Beyond that the beer was reasonably priced as was the cost of this event, maxing out at $10.00. The location was a fairly reasonable distance from both the subway and the street car. And after the $110.00 ticket (burnt out headlight) I wish I had taken an alternate form of transportation.
Bottom line...while your mama might say don't throw stones in the house, I say throw that stone over the button, and make your way to a curing establishment to figure out what I just said.
