My Grandma used to make Pasties for us when I was a kid, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant in Tempe. For those who don't know, a pasty is your choice of filling baked into a delicious flaky crust, wrapped all the way around. Then it is cut in half to eat. Kind of like a hot pocket, but way way better. :)
My favorite pasty is the Carne Adovada. Perfect amount of spicy and cooled off with the cheese and sour cream. The Italian is also very good. They offer a wide variety of choices, something for everyone, along with a vegetarian menu. I am also told the deserts are superb, but I am always too full when I get to that point. Usually there are a few people assembling the next batch of pasties behind the counter, so that is kind of neat to see. Pasties are premade, so there is no customizing the filling.
They have expanded so there is A LOT more seating room. In the past I would not have gone with a group, however now they could easily accommodate. Good beer list also. I can't wait to go back!
