  • Long overdue and in serious need of a mani/pedi, I decided to take advantage of their recent groupon deal - $29 for basic mani pedi, with a paraffin treatment. I'm a big fan of the Richmond Hill Woody Michleb location, so I was excited to try the Forest Hill location out! Located near Eglinton & Avenue, you may have a hard time figuring out where the spa is located. It's actually in the "Living Life on the Avenue Retirement Residence" - it took me a little bit to figure this out, as there is no signage outside to indicate that the spa is inside. Note: they will not scan your Groupon from your phone - you are required to have the printed out copy. If for whatever reason you can't get it printed before you come, they will be kind enough to let you log into your Groupon account on their computer so you can print it. My appointment was set for 12:45 but I was about 20-25 minutes early, however, they were not busy at all so I was able to start my appointment early - always a bonus! The massage chair I sat in while getting my pedi was uber comfy, I did not want to leave it! The pedicure itself was okay - I like that they use a scrub to exfoliate your skin and since I usually frequent nail salons rather than full spas for mani/pedis I am not usually treated to this! The girl doing my nails was a bit rough with them, which I don't really mind, except for one of my nails she tried to file down wayyy too far and now it's sort of raw, red, and blotchy :(. Serious minus points for that. I loved the paraffin treatment & the way it made my hands feel so nice & soft after! However, some of the wax got under my nails & the Aestitian did not remove any of it - I had to do that myself when I left afterwards - that was a bit offputting. The manicure also fell along the "okay" side - some of my nails were shaped differently then others and the finished manicure ended up being a bit messy for a professionally done job, in my opinion. Also major minus points for the lack of a nail dryer. There was no drying done to my feet, and for my hands, they were dried with a mini desk fan, which was a bit odd for such an upscale place! The girls working there were super sweet, so zero complaints about the service which is always a good thing! All in all, I doubt I will be back to this location - even with the lure of a future groupon. I will be sticking with the Richmond Hill location going forward.
