  • I have been going to 3 classes a month here using my ClassPass membership since April. So I have a good basis for which to compare different yoga and pilates places. My first experience at a hot pilates class was ok. The music was too loud and the sound system was awful so I had a hard time following along. I really began to like the different yoga and pilates classes classes and found the instructors to be pretty good. I could tell the instructors cared and tried to make it fun. I was really turned off by the encouragement of tipping though. It just seemed weird to tip an instructor and I was already paying $79 a month to ClassPass so it just didn't seem right to also tip since I was paying a decent amount and no one ever explained the tipping to me. In early September I walked in one day at 5:50 am for a 6:00 am class I had signed up for and the guy checking me in was apparently the owner, King. I tell him my name, say I'm with ClassPass and then he goes on to say "You need to buy a membership. We don't know if we get paid on ClassPass and it's hardly anything. We are probably going to cancel that program anyway, it's not turning into new members. You need to buy a membership." It was extremely rude and it was like he didn't want to let me into the class. I was so irritated, especially that early in the morning. It totally ruined my peace for my yoga class. He basically did the same thing this week when I came for a class. And then today there was some email about mandatory tipping and having to pay $1.99 extra for classes because the instructors aren't getting paid enough. I'm just pretty annoyed at the whole experience there and will not be going back or buying a membership. I was considering buying an annual membership and quitting classpass before the harassment and mandatory tipping but not anymore. I assume the place will shut down at some point soon since he is running it into the ground, not paying his people right or charging an appropriate amount for memberships.
