| - DTLV is home to plenty of cute and thriving small businesses, but as a local, I'm always hesitant to make the drive up because thinking about street parking makes me tired. Paralleling is not my forte. Luckily, we slid into a spot around the corner even at a high-traffic time like Sunday brunch day.
It was a 25 minute wait, but that was expected. The place was packed with peeps getting their brunch on. There's some lounge couches outside so at least you're comfy while waiting. And if you choose not to wait, there's a handful of other brunch spots within the vicinity.
I chose the SMOKED SALMON BENNY. Who doesn't like some oozing egg yolk action? Savory and filling. The sautéed kale and tomatillo hollandaise gave it a nice twist. It also came with a few pieces of plantain chips, keeping with the Latin-inspired menu. My cousin opted for the GARLIC LIME CHICKEN off the lunch menu, which looked like it came with mashed potatoes amongst other things. Both menus are available from 7a-4p.
I read a lot of hype surrounding their lattes here, so we both decided to try iced ones: SALTED CARAMEL for me and LAVENDER for my cousin. Our waiter accidentally brought me mine hot, but said I could just keep it. When he brought my iced one, he took back the hot one. Indian giver! In fairness, I said I wasn't going to drink both of them anyway, so shrug. Also, they seemed to run out of mason jars for us, so it was brought out in plastic cups. It honestly just reminded me of a glorified iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks, but still enjoyed it. We forgot to check in before, but 20% off your latte if you do.
