| - Decided to check out the Yonge and Eglington neighborhood while visiting Toronto, and I had read the reviews for Rachel's prior to my adventure. This coffee shop did not disappoint. I believe it is family owned, which adds a homey vibe. They have a great menu, from the basic coffee shop offerings to their own concoctions. I would call it coffee/tea with a flair of Japanese fusion (several matcha offerings). The food menu though not as extensive as a restaurant (which you wouldn't expect from a typical cafe anyways), is not limited by any means. I had the smoked salmon, green mango, avocado sandwich. I had the option of whole grain or rye bread, and it came with a side salad. Both were great! The side salad even had apple and corn. They have something for every taste palate; if you are looking for a more traditional latte or ham & cheese panini, you're set here. Furthermore, they have several offerings for those with food intolerances/allergies. They have gluten free bread, soy/almond/lactose free milk options, several of their treats are gluten free, and I'm sure they'd be willing to accommodate you in any way possible. Overall a gem in the Yonge and Eglington neighborhood. You can't go wrong with Rachel's. P.S. best tea latte I've ever had!
Just an fyi: the washroom is downstairs so if stairs present a challenge, you might need to seek one elsewhere.
