  • I would never recommend this office, even in an emergency visit situation, such as I had. Full story: I was out of town and had enough tooth pain, that I scheduled an appointment with the nearest dentist office, ignoring the negative reviews. After all, I would be seeing an actual dentist, not a hygienist, to have them examine the tooth where the pain was coming from. I was the first appointment at 8am. I waited for 10 minutes before I was taken back. The hygienist said they needed to take x-rays, a full set. I declined and said I only wanted x-rays of the trouble tooth. The hygienist sent away for the front office clerk who came back and said the full set of x-rays was necessary and they could not examine my hurting tooth without out it. I asked again why one or two wouldn't be sufficient. She said the full set was necessary to evaluate my overall tooth health and they could not examine my hurting tooth without the full set of x-rays. She said they would not charge my insurance and I would pay nothing out of pocket. The hygienist fumbled around in my mouth and was clumsy. The full set of x-rays took over an hour. No less than three other office members sat chatting in the reception area about miscellaneous non-business related topics. Not a single other patron came into the office during my visit, so they weren't attending to anyone but themselves. Any one of them could have assisted or at least pushed the x-ray button after the clumsy hygienist finally jammed the plates into place in my mouth. One finally did assist, which brought the final time to 1 hour, 10 minutes. She had to retake several of the x-rays that the hygienist had messed up or had not positioned correctly. They exposed me to excessive radiation, for x-rays that I didn't want and were completely unnecessary. One or two x-rays would have been sufficient to see my problem tooth. After the x-rays, I said I didn't want the teeth cleaning, which was suggested to me in case the tooth pain was simply something stuck under my tooth gum. She insisted and stated it was so quick, it would only take a few minutes. She started with the polish. The polish is always last. I verified this with my regular dentist. A few select teeth were polished on the outside. She never touched the underside of my teeth. There was some uncomfortable poking of a few more teeth (no cleaning of my hurting tooth at all), and then the hygienist left and came back with the toothbrush/floss goodie bag. That was it? That was not a teeth cleaning. Not even half of my teeth were touched. It also took an extra 15 minutes. This took me to over an hour and a half, for an emergency visit, and I hadn't yet seen a dentist! The hygienist wasted precious time asking me questions such as "How happy are you with your current care routine" and "On a scale of 1 to 10, where would you like your cleaning routine to be". What a huge waste of time. Not to mention, I was out of town and would not be returning to this office. On top of that, she blamed her co-workers for not filling out the questionnaire correctly/completely, when in fact, they skipped it because this was an emergency visit and those questions were ridiculous to ask to an adult. I got up and left. An hour and a half later, no dentist, and I'm still in pain. I left and asked that the dentist (if she was actually there) call me to discuss my tooth. No phone call. A few hours later, I called the office and asked to speak to the dentist. The front office clerk explained that I needed to come in for a filling on my hurting tooth, but I insisted on speaking to an actual dentist. The front office clerk acted surprised by my request but finally transferred me to the dentist. Per the "dentist", from the x-rays, she determined that I had tooth decay around my crown of the hurting tooth, and my crown would need to be replaced. I requested a copy of the x-ray and sent them to my regular dentist's office. My dentist said the x-rays "were not the best" but they could read them enough to tell that I did not have any decay, but of course, they would need to see me in person. Bingo. I would need to have an actual dentist look at my tooth. I've now seen an actual dentist, my regular dentist. Two things were wrong with the Tramonto dentist's diagnosis. 1) There was no tooth decay at all on my hurting tooth at all. My crown is fine and does not need replacement. My regular dentist also said there was absolutely nothing on the poor x-ray to indicate that there might have been any decay. 2) The Tramonto dentist missed the "glaringly obvious" cavity two teeth over. My dentist saw it on the x-ray even. He stated it was "impossible to miss". Tramonto Family Dentistry is incapable of giving any sort of quality care. To top it off, they billed my insurance. They even billed for the poor x-rays that they said they would not bill for. I would never recommend Tramonto Family Dentistry.
