AMBIENCE
Dimly lit, great for parties less than 8. Harder to accommodate many more given seating arrangements. The whole restaurant smells like a wet rag... I've been here for lunch a total of 5 times in the past few months and EVERY single time, it smells like a wet rag. Something should really be done about that. Service is great, the waitresses are super friendly. The kitchen is really off-and-on. Sometimes, the food is great. Sometimes, it's pretty terrible. I don't really understand why since I only come here for lunch and there are almost never more than ~25 people in the restaurant at one time.
LOCATION
Off of Tryon kind of by Dandy, across the street from Basil Thai. Parking... I know nothing about. Sorry!
FOOD
The food here is pretty good. There are things I like and things I hate. I've never chosen to come here... always seem to come here when Basil Thai is super packed and can't accommodate our party. Their lunch menu is strangely limited and the appetizers are listed on the wrong side of the page.
Fries - kind of oily but good. Sometimes, the fries are delicious. Sometimes, they come out stone cold.
Black bean hummus with pita - Get this. The black bean hummus is ultra-smooth and a strange purple-ish color but super delicious. The oil and tomatoes they add on top really add to the dish. The pita, again... sometimes cold and almost always stale when I've had them.
Jamaican chicken wraps - 2 mini wraps for just under $10?... this is a rip off and not worth it. Don't order it.
Chicken wrap - It's pretty good but again, nothing crazy. All sandwiches come with a side of fries.. (the menu sucks and doesn't mention this)
Ham and cheese - this sandwich is enough for 2 to share. It is HUGE. the bread is really thick and the amount of ham in there really makes it more than just some sandwich you make at home. It's buttered and grilled/toasted. Someone on our table ordered it and the bread was borderline burnt.
