  • For upscale Italian, you would be hard pressed to beat Il Mulino in Las Vegas. The mother ship is located in NYC. The original is rather small and difficult to get a reservation. i always enjoyed the food there but never liked the cramped quarters and snooty attitude. Basically, this is a clone foodwise of the NYC location but with all the things I didn't like about the NYC location improved upon. The food at the Las Vegas location is on a par with the NYC location but the attitude is gone. Also, the restaurant is spacious. Before you even have a chance to look at the menu, you are served large chunks of parmigianna cheese, chili soaked zucchini slices, various breads and other treats. The menu selection is generally traditional and extensive. Everything is well prepared and generously portioned. My major complaint is that their wine list is a joke. The mark-ups are so high it is insulting. If this was not typical for all the top end restaurants on the strip, I would have taken off a star for this alone.
