| - I brought my 2 cats here for a spay and neuter a month ago. Overall, I am happy with my decision to take them to the Spay Neuter Clinic rather than to their regular vet. Basically, it was my only option because I couldn't afford the surgeries with their regular vet. I really appreciate that there are vets and vet techs that dedicate their time to delivering important pet care like this. It is definitely a fraction of the cost to go to the Spay Neuter Clinic and I can't imagine the staff is making very much at the end of the day, so you gotta give props to them. Both of my cats had their surgeries and are doing very well since. A very nice woman spoke with me when I came to pick up my cats after their surgeries and talked me through how to take care of them at home, how to give the pain meds I opted for, and even gave me some verbal doctors notes from the vet.
Now, be aware, it is by no means a glamorous office (it is pretty dingy, but a fancy office costs $$$) and the whole check in/drop off process is a little rough (and a little traumatic - for both pets and parents). Keep in mind that there are going to be a lot of people scheduled on the same day as your appointment (I think there were at least a dozen people there the day I went) and some of those people will have more than one pet with them, so the check in process takes awhile. There will also be a wide range of animals in a very small room, from very large and hyperactive adult dogs down to itty bitty little scared kittens. Definitely stressful for the cats in the room and their owners, so if you have a cat be prepared for that. Also, there was only one woman trying to check everyone in and get information on each pet, so the check in process was a little stressful and disorganized. People were getting agitated (even though she was doing her best) - so having 2 people during the check in process would have been helpful.
So, keep all of this in mind. Basically, this is a no frills option for having something very important done for your pet. If you have limited financial resources, this really is a great choice because the most important thing is that you have your pet spayed or neutered. It is probably a more stressful choice than an appointment at your regular veterinarian's office, so you have to weigh that into your decision - sometimes the added comfort of a more streamlined process and familiarity with your doctor outweighs any of the financial considerations. Maybe check it out first if you're worried. But really, this is a solid SOLID choice for a spay/neuter for your cat or dog.
