| - I took my 11 year old to see Dr. O for a consultation. This is my second child to have braces. The first child had "phase one" braces that included an expander (and used 75% of his $2000 orthodontic lifetime allotment), then later he had "phase two". If anyone has had to have expander, they will tell you it is horrible. Whether you are the child or the parent, it is just awful. I am hoping to avoid that with my second son as he has overcrowded teeth just like my first son, if not worse. Thanks to Dr. O, we will NOT be using an expander! I can't tell you how happy we are!! We won't start the braces till January or February, so we don't feel like we are being pressured to put the braces on now. There are no crazy incentive programs like tokens etc. that the child rarely, if ever, uses. They do have a referral incentive program that is very generous.
Dr. O is great with my son and answered any questions we had and we did not feel rushed. I've been to a couple of "top" orthodontist, and I wish I had known about Dr. O before now. It would have saved my first son a lot of pain (and me emotional pain from having to turn that expander, research expander if you don't know what it is!) and it would have saved me $$ money too!
We will be returning to Dr. O in January, and I will be writing another review to let you know how it progresses!
