| - For as much of a bad rap Lululemon gets, I really do like this store. Yes, I know they have overpriced yoga pants. I get it. But I'll be one (of many) to tell you that it is every single bit worth the money in terms of quality. Where I'm concerned, I value quality and good customer service over cheap crap that's gonna wear out much faster.
Let's face it, our work out clothes bear the brunt of our activity. We swim, run, ride, stretch, lift, jump and hit our grind in this stuff. You don't want clothes with itchy, loose seams that rip when you stretch. And granted there are other good brands out there. If I ranked active wear brands in categories (which I do, but I'll spare you the painstaking detail) Lululemon would be in the uppermost category. I don't wear yoga pants (and you'll thank me for that) but here they do carry stuff most guys will wear to work out in. Shorts with liners that will do anything from swimming to yoga to running, some of the most comfy underwear you'll ever wear, silver-lined (hooray-hooray) socks for that no-smell foot after a sweaty workout and on and on. Aside from the socks, I'm also a sucker for their headbands. Finally a store that gives a crap about how men look and feel when they work out. I donno about y'all but I HATE working out in shin-length basketball shorts.
So the elephant in the room is that the prices are in fact high. "I don't wanna pay no $100 for some yoga pants!" says everyone ever who has come here. But some of them leave with a pair and will come back for more because you realize that you'd rather have one pair that outlives you than have to buy 10 pair at $20 (=$200 for you non-mathers out there) over the same period of time. Disclaimer: this has been an exaggeration. But the facts are clear as day; the quality is good. And the customer service is stellar. Staff is constantly moving and willing to help. I bought a pair of shorts here that claimed to be a good multisport short. Unfortunately, having spent lots of time running, I found that they were not in fact conducive to running. After contacting customer service through their website they were more than happy to allow me to exchange my shorts for something more appropriate to running. This despite the fact that I had already worn the first pair running.
Even if I set aside a wonderful customer service experience, the quality alone speaks for itself here. It's really about what you personally prefer from your work out gear (and underwear and socks in my case). Quantity? or Quality?
