  • I stayed in this hotel for three nights and had a tumultuous experience. In the hotel's defense the staff was pleasant and courteous. The decor downstairs is tasteful. The rooms were clean, well equipped and the breakfast was tasty. However you should be aware that this hotel attracts a clientele that makes it a hellish place in which to stay. One night I had the misfortune of having the most loud and obnoxious groups of people staying adjacent and opposite me. In each of the three nearest rooms a family was located with screaming children. Each of them played loud music or blasted the television. It was so bad that you could hear the noise in the hallway and inside my room. I was so shocked that I took a video of the experience. The decibel level was worse than what I experienced in a college dormitory. The staff was kind enough to relocate us to the floor above. But they were not surprised in the least by my complaint. It was immediately obvious that this was very much the norm - especially during weekends. And I observed a sign in the main lobby restricting irresponsible behavior in the swimming pool. This was of the sort that was common sense but somehow had to be explicated for the type of guests that frequent this hotel. In the morning there were a few guests that I wanted to run far from. One was so physically violent that I wondered about calling law enforcement. Another was clearly abusive towards their children. Yet another stared at me and my associate as we checked in. It was as though they held some deep antipathy to a stranger. On another occasion a family of kids rushed into the elevator and smashed straight into us while being soaking wet and consequently splashing water all over the elevator floor. They had not bothered to dry off and had just dashed straight out of the pool. In the elevator they screamed and to this day I have never seen such inconsiderate behavior in an elevator. I didn't feel safe and on the final night when things reached their dysfunctional crescendo we checked out at about 1 am and went looking for another hotel. To the best of my knowledge the hotel did not give us our money back for that last night. The shame of the situation is that the management clearly makes an effort. But that cannot overshadow an unsafe environment.
