| - Bill Spoon's is a Charlotte institution. The interior looks like your grandmothers house. Old wood, old carpet, very homey, lived in feel.
They are known for their chopped style BBQ. Its all pork and is lean. They douse it in a Carolina style, vinegar sauce, which gives it a distinctive twang. You can of course ask for more sauce as you like. I'm a certified BBQ judge and while the pork is good, its not out of this world. Mine was on the dry side and the vinegar gave it more straight sour than highlighting the meat. I also got the ribs. They come with a thick sweet sauce. Again, nothing superb, but nothing terrible either. They too were a little dry, but more flavorful and smokey than the pork.
FYI, as of this posting, they are now only open for lunch.
