i am updating my review after calling them today. my car is a 2007 Mustang GT. anyone who calls themselves a mechanic should know that these engines had issues with the spark plugs. 2005-2007 used a 2 piece spark plug, and they can break and pieces get stuck in the engine when trying to remove them. it is recommended to replace them every 2 years because the longer they stay in the engine, the more they tend to get stuck or break. After doing my research and reading fords TSB on this KNOWN ISSUE, I decided it is a little much for me to try on my own. I called here because I had a good experience here before, but today the guy I spoke with immediately started in with the old sales pitch when I asked him how much to replace the spark plugs.
Right off the bat he quoted me $22.00 each for the plugs. these can be bought at Gaudin Ford for $11.00 so they doubled the price right off the bat. When I asked about the labor he says "why do you want your spark plugs replaced? is the car running rough or misfiring? I said no it runs fine I just want them replaced. He says "what we need to do is bring the car in and inspect it and probably do a full tune up, you might not need spark plugs.
I said no I just want a price on replacing the spark plugs. At this point I knew this guy was completely clueless and I gave up trying to get a simple answer to a simple question. I will just take the car to Gaudin Ford and let a certified FORD mechanic who is familiar with Fords and knows what a TSB is and can read it.
