Update: 2/20/2017: ABSOLUTE DENTAL? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!
Today, the CEO Thomas Montefesino told me that I was "belligerent" (imagine that) in their office, and no longer welcome at Absolute Dental. In an overt attempt to shift blame, he told me it was MY responsibility to know my out of pocket costs(I asked and was NOT TOLD) The fact that they had ALWAYS previously been given estimates prior to services being performed (as per their own policy) is now irrelevant.Only my "belligerent" reaction seems to be the problem. Question: Would not ANYONE be outraged and even belligerent at this horrifying experience? This does not appear to matter to them They only care about avoiding responsibility and not willing to even offer a compromise. They have accused me of belligerent and threatening behavior. The only threat was to sue this company. Now they are attempting to portray the incident much differently than it really was. The attorney for Absolute Dental has promised to contact me in the next few days. I anticipate one of two possible outcomes:
1) a mutually equitable solution is offered and accepted, resulting in a public acknowledge of AD's willingness to offer solutions....or:
2) a letter denying (already verbally acknowledged) culpability which only inflames the situation to a higher degree.
I have been going to this location for a few years. Never a problem....UNTIL:
In December, I was told that an extraction and implant was recommended. I was told my out of pocket would be $200, which I paid on the spot. I was NEVER told how much the implant would be, nor did I sign for any charges other than the $200 I paid in December. Today, February 17, 2017. I went to receive my implant. I was told for the first time that my out of pocket charge would be MORE THAN $1,200, and that the $200 previously paid was just for the extraction. This $1,200 charge was disclosed AFTER having my tooth removed and TWO MONTHS LATER! I am now TOOTHLESS. Another dentist told me a root canal was possible, and an implant unnecessary. I trusted these people at Absolute Dental.. They took not only my money, but they left me without my tooth, and NEVER disclosed additional out of pocket expenses until AFTER TAKING MY TOOTH! This is MOST UNSCRUPULOUS, UNFAIR, UNETHICAL, AND JUST PLAIN WRONG! As a teacher with Clark County School District, I am one of 35,000 CCSD employees.DO NOT USE ABSOLUTE DENTAL!!!! They will take your money, pull your teeth, and leave you defenseless without even so much as an apology. I am SUING THEM! ABSOLUTE DENTAL? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I WILL SEE THEM IN COURT.
CCSD EMPLOYEES: BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS. NOTIFY TEACHER'S HEALTH TRUST that this practitioner engages in unethical behavior and will take advantage of you through their own poor business practices! SHAME! ABSOLUTE DENTAL SHOULD NOT BE A NETWORK PROVIDER FOR CCSD.CALL THE CCEA UNION IF YOU ARE A TEACHER. They want to know when we are are being taken advantage of. Do not be silent. This business does not deserve YOUR BUSINESS! I am toothless.....ponder that!
