  • [[01.10.18 UPDATE:]] ...So, I recently went in for my free, annual (("Why Bother??")) Baskin Robbins birthday ice cream offering and as stated on the coupon I ordered the "one scoop" cone. The gentleman who attended to me (perhaps the co-owner of this husband/wife operation??) was attentive and pleasant. After scooping my cone he placed it in their convenient cone-holder stand near the register area. (Now for that big, anticipated "BUT...":) "BUT", when I handed him the coupon he said that the coupon doesn't cover "that" size one scoop cone he had just scooped, even though "ironically" the coupon stated a "one scoop" cone. He then explained that this birthday promo was only for 2.5 oz cones and that the one he had just scooped for me was 3 ounces in size. (( 'Oh, gosh!! )) He then told me he'd have to re-scoop for me another ( -even- ) smaller sized cone...(if that's possible? Smaller than a golf ball??) "You gotta' be kidding, right??" I thought to myself, but "No", he wasn't kidding. ...So here, in all seriousness of this such delicate matter, ( -and beginning to wonder if I might be being "Punkd!!??"- ) he proceeded to downsize and re-scoop for me their "micro-sized, 'one-scoop' cone" and then handed it to me, complete with a straight face. I don't believe they post this "micro-sized" cone on the menu, so for the sake of keeping things simple it's conveniently (/confusingly??) referred to as the "one scoop cone"; that is until you go to redeem your free coupon...and then all the hair splitting begins. ((You've been warned...J/K!! :)) What this all really should come down to on behalf of the company is why bother misleading your customers with this gimmick?? If I'm embarrassed to be handed this "teeny prop", they should be even more embarrassed for misleadingly using it to lure in customers. Geez. (...And don't even get me started on their redefining/split definition of "one scoop." ============================== My recent visit here was a bit of a disappointment. I had a birthday coupon to use up and received an ice cream cone with an "at-best" golf ball sized scoop of ice cream IN it...I mean this meager scoop was so small that it was actually falling into the cone rather than sitting atop of it. The help here seemed eager enough, though not the most competent, causing me to have to repeat myself after each request I made. Then, upon asking for a flavor that was clearly displayed as available, the worker looked deep down into the freezer case bottom only to find that it had expired. She then mysteriously disappeared out back and returned back again offering to serve it to myself (and other future customers) even though it was three months past expiration. (The impression I was left with was that the woman owner out back directed this worker to go forth and dubiously pass off selling this product. Not cool.) I had been to this location before and found this visit consistent with my past experiences here where micro-managing your orders using a scale is not the exception, but the norm...overall this store's owners are stingily in it for the money only. You'll be lucky if you even get what you pay for and not a crumb more.
