Like many people here, I found Shane through a Google search and was convinced to contact him after reading all the positive Yelp reviews. I've now visited Shane twice and am really pleased. I won't take my pieces to anyone else.
Yes, his workshop is unusual, but once you're in there it's fascinating to see all his tools and parts and listen to him speak about his craft. He's great at making conversation while you wait, but the best part is watching him work. I've yet to bring him any high-end or heirloom pieces like some of the people here (though one of the watches I brought him was mid-range and limited edition), but he never made me feel as if any of my pieces were of lesser quality. He treats every piece as if it's valuable, and honestly if you're bringing your pieces to Shane then you really do care about them.
If he can't make the repair you need, he'll explain why it's not possible, and you'll learn that much more about how your timepiece works. Shane is warm and friendly and great at what he does. Highly recommended.
