  • I have given Discount Tire my business for decades. I tolerate the idiotic policy about putting the newest tires on the back... mostly. But today, a different idiot policy came to light. I stopped in and asked if they would re-mount a wheelbarrow tire that I had replaced the tube in, because I had dismounted it but could not easily put the tire back on the rim. At first, they said, not a problem! Then they noticed that (heaven forbid) the tire was a ... a... TUBELESS tire - and at some point, a mortal sin had been committed that someone had inserted a tube into the tire (because tubeless tires on wheelbarrows are ... well, stupid). And they have a POLICY of not working on tires that are marked tubeless that have had tubes put in them. Because insurance, you know? So when I am heading down the freeway in my jet powered wheelbarrow I guess it could be a problem as I get up past 100 mph. Seriously. This is STUPID. Guess what, discount tire. I have a POLICY that prevents me from doing business with IDIOTS.
