  • Well, I started with the soup that came with the lunch special. Pretty much flavorless broth with a few overboiled vegetables and plain tofu (not the lovely tofu that you find in good Thai places). The soup of my nightmares. If you want better lunch soup, go to, well, anywhere else. Just .8 miles in either direction are Sala Thai and Ha Long Bay, featuring complex amazing soups and entrees, and across the street is Lao Laan Xang. Trust me, you won't regret it the extra walk/drive. Then the "penang curry" came out. I don't know what this was, but it wasn't penang curry - almost no lime leaves, bizarrely sweet but yet flavorless sauce. And the service? I had to find the waitress (who didn't seem that busy) to get something hot to spice up my "medium curry", and after she gave me the check she didn't come back for 10 minutes to pick it up. If you are looking for better Thai, go anywhere in the entire city. I had thought it wasn't possible to screw up Thai food, but apparently I was wrong...
