I have seen the lineups and long heard about these gourmet made-in-house and sinfully delicious creations by Ed. After looking on and window watching for over a year at the various locations I finally dove in and tried Ed's at the Leslieville location.
Maybe it just wasn't ice cream kinda day, maybe I jumped the gun a little and welcomed summer when it's not even spring yet. Or perhaps this winter has been so long and treacherous that licking this ice cold cream induced flashbacks of shoveling the driveway. Whatever it is, it sure didn't taste like summer was in my mouth.
The key-lime was mundane. It's flavours so dull it can't even cut melted butter. There was hardly any sourness and the texture was equivalent to whole wheat dough. The mint chocolate was equally disappointing with flavours just as lacking if not even more so.
All in all a very disappointing ice creamery. Get your fix in the frozen aisle instead.
