If you are looking for ambiance, then this is the place for you. The setting is gorgeous. If you are looking for a good meal, then I would look elsewhere. After waiting 45 minutes for our table (we had a reservation) and watching 3 other couples who walked in before us get seated (obviously regulars who Lon's wants to keep happy first and foremost) we finally got a pretty good table. For the price we paid, I was extremely disappointed. My salmon, for lack of better words, was inedible. It was doused in salt. My husband ordered the beef tenderloin, and our waiter informed him they were all out but assured him they had a wonderful top sirloin. Our waiter went back to the kitchen only to find they were all out of that, but he could have a filet mignon instead. He ate 3 bites and couldn't choke any more of it down. We were celebrating a special occasion so went over to another nearby restaurant for our after-dinner drink so we could end on a happy note instead of the disaster of a meal we had at Lon's. I am not one to write bad reviews, but it was so unpleasant , I felt it was necessary. The 2 stars are because of the setting.
