Came here for lunch around 1.30pm sadly the Mexican place next door was full so we decided to give this place a try. Inside the air conditioning felt really cold but we got a table on their patio which was pretty big with umbrellas and lots of sun, they have strings of lights that must be nice at night. It was a great place to sit outside for the afternoon and that was pretty much the best part. The crowd is less rowdy than Jake's down the street, and there were more families with young children.
I got the daily pub pie which was steak and peppers, it came with mashed potatoes and green peas. The potatoes were creamy and fluffy though I have a feeling boxed potatoes were mixed it but the peas were surprisingly crunchy and sweet - and this is coming from a person who usually does not eat them. The pie crust was not bad and buttery, the gravy inside the pie was also good but the meat was a bit dried out and tough which was unfortunate. ($12)
The butter chicken flatbread was ok, some complained that the bread was a bit hard but I was ok with it. Continuing with the dry meat theme of the place, the chicken was also a bit on the dry side and I wish it had more butter chicken sauce and cheese on it. The hint of mango chutney was nice though. ($13) The Canadian burger came with bacon and cheese, however dry meat continues here, the burger was on the dry side but it was ok with some ketchup on top. The sweet potato fries were good though for an extra $2.
The food came out quite slow but it was quite busy that day. The service was ok our server wasn't friendly and just did his job. A meal for 3 people with a small beer and an iced tea came up to be $60 for mediocre food but with a patio spot.
