Wow, what a profoundly disappointing experience. I can summarize my opinion about the (Hilton) Homewood Suites Henderson in four words; No, no and HELL no! We live two hours from Henderson/Las Vegas and spend perhaps one weekend a month there. We chose the Homewood Suites this visit due to lack of availability of other properties closer to the Strip. This was undoubtedly our worst hotel experience in the area to date. Our first "suite" was so small we felt completely claustrophobic. Note to Hilton, putting a wall through the middle of a standard size hotel room DOES NOT make it a suite. We spoke to the manager (Shane) who was very helpful and accommodating and moved us into a larger "suite" for a small upgrade fee. It was considerably larger, but very spartan in its appointments. In both "suites" the furniture was worn and stained with very suspicious stains on every piece, and padding poking through damaged upholstery. Glassware was so used, abused and damaged that no amount of hand washing and polishing could persuade us to actually consider using it. The pool was nice enough, but small, with exactly 6 (yes six) lounge chairs. Breakfast was just your basic "out of a box" hotel fair. Kitchen staff did a poor job keeping up with guests. There were always stacks of dirty dishes and remnants of the last guest on every table. Hilton should be ashamed for lending the name to this thoroughly inadequate property. I did not expect Trump or Vdara and am not judging against that level of property, but this was the most unacceptable property we have had the misfortune of staying in since being caught in a blizzard at 2 a.m. outside Casper Wyoming. Never again.
(The photo's I've uploaded only scratch the surface. I did not think to take any in the first "suite", and only after my wife had taken soap and a washcloth some of the most suspicious "residue" in the second.)
