Let me start by sharing my experience at the E.R.
In late June I got a lockjaw for the first time in my life around midnight. Me and my girlfriend found this place online and decided to go. I was not in pain, just had a small discomfort. After a 45 min wait I was taken inside to see a doctor.
The doctor was really friendly and shared a personal story of his brother getting a lockjaw when they were younger and never getting one again in his adult life.
The doctor brought a towel, placed it in my mouth and pulled it down back into place in seconds. No pain, just a scary experience. No medicine or anesthesia was used for the process.
Having recently graduated college and having just moved to Las Vegas, I did not have health insurance of my own.
A few weeks later, I received a bill for $1,049.30 from the hospital.
A separate bill from my physician arrived for the same charges for the amount of $1,441!!
Others Yelpers have called this hospital a scam, and I can now agree.
I visited the hospital and spoke to Office Technician Alicia Aguilar, she said she would send my bill to be reviewed and would call me back later that day for confirmation. I never received a call. I emailed her twice : alicia.aguilar@uhsinc.com and she never responded!
The service here is a joke to say the least.
I am in the process of hearing back from the physician's office in hopes to lower that bill since the hospital never bothered to listen. The physician is part of shadow emergency physicians.
Would I recommend this place? Never!
