  • We ate here on a Sunday evening in early February only because we were staying at the Bellagio and walked by it on the way to a convention event. It turned out to be some great food, although there were a few service issues. I will say that the ladies working the hostess station were great - extremely friendly. We were seated at the bar at first since we didn't have a reservation, but the wait was really short - maybe 10 minutes tops at about 8:30-9:00 The bartender was a tad abrupt but the slightly older one who picked up the bill was gracious. I had the "Jala Back" since I like some spice, and it was good - I ended up ordering another with dinner. The naan and dipping sauces that came first were fabulous - the best naan I've had. I appreciate that there was a spicy and a 'regular' sauce since I love spice and my friend cannot eat it. I would have had a whole meal of the naan. We shared two appetizers - the steamed buns and the crab+lobster maki roll. Both were fantastic. The steamed buns were soft and luscious with the correct pickle and sauce. The roll was also great and the portions were perfect. For entrees, I had the Yellowfin Tuna, which was cooked perfectly, and my friend had the special, which was served with dashi and vegetables and she loved. The entree portions were also perfect to be satisfactory but not too big. For dessert, we had the banana with peanut butter ice cream. The ice cream was great - I could have done without the banana. Now, the only issues were that 1) the pacing of the meal was off. The whole dinner took almost two hours. I noticed slow service seemed common in Vegas in general, though. 2) We never actually figured out who our waiter was. One guy came to take our drink order, disappeared to get water, and when a lady with water appeared several minutes later, she had no idea that we'd already been asked about it. Then another man popped up with an iPad asking about drinks. The first guy reappeared to take our order, then throughout the meal we had at least three people coming and going asking how we were doing (none of them management), someone dedicated to serving the dishes, and a different person taking our dessert order, and at one point a waiter called my friend - a lady - "sir", which he was very embarrassed about. They were all nice, but it appeared disorganized. Overall, this was a good meal, and although I may not make it a destination if I were staying at another hotel, I have no problem recommending it and would return if I were at The Bellagio.
