| - I often stay at the Inn at Eagle Mountain when visiting family in Fountain Hills, and when I made my most recent reservation it included a credit voucher for their Spa. I thought that was great and looked forward to using it. Sadly, my experience was beyond disappointing. It was my worst massage ever, and my least satisfactory spa experience ever too.
Here's a sampling ... I made a phone reservation several days ahead of time and asked for their Salt River Stone massage, but was told that wasn't available. (Really? It's over 100 degrees ... just go outside and grab some stones!!) Opted for a Swedish instead. When I got there I was told I could have the hot stone after all, but I said I was fine with the other. (The charge for the Swedish massage was suddenly considerably higher that what I'd been quoted a few days earlier, but I digress.) On the way to the massage room, I mentioned to the masseuse that my neck and lower back were achy and could use some extra attention; I was sternly informed that my massage was full-body, light touch, and that was what I'd receive. Light touch was right, as I barely felt any pressure. She also talked way too much during the session, which I didn't appreciate, and I was actually happy when our time together was over.
In short ... don't bother.
