| - The service center was AMAZING!
My fiancé & I were on our way to a wedding on the Las Vegas strip from Los Angeles. 1/2 way through our drive, the check engine light came on in our 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The car isn't that old & we regularly maintenance it.
The temperature in the desert where we were was over 100*! I started panicking. There aren't a whole lot of places or towns to stop between LA & LV, so I was worried our car wasn't going to make it. I started using my phone to find the nearest service center to take our car. I called several to see how far they were, if they'd still be open, & if they could get us in ASAP. It was a NIGHTMARE. I had no idea where we were exactly (a lesson I learned the hard way, but I learned to keep a map). And they kept placing me on hold & transferring me, & finally told me they wouldn't be able to get to me until 2 days later. It was July 3rd & everyone was also closing early due to the holiday. OF COURSE! I was in tears... I didn't know what we were going to do if our car broke down in the middle of the desert at temps over 100*, I didn't know if we would be able to get to a hotel, how much it would cost us to get a tow, we weren't going to make it to our friends wedding, it just felt like the worst holiday EVER.
One of the service centers called me back. THIS one. I had explained to him our predicament. I believe his name was Mike. He said he was a supervisor. He told me he would squeeze me in, even though they were incredibly busy, and of course they all wanted to get home. I was still an hour away. He was beyond patient, compassionate, & understanding. He even called me back 30 mins later to check on us. When we got there, they took a look at the car & discovered it was an error in one of the sensors. They calibrated it for us & we were good to go!
We were there a couple of hours, but we were so grateful he made that happen for us. We were able to wait in the beautiful a/c, & get drinks at their restaurant. And he even called us 2 days later to make sure the car was still running fine!
Thank you so much for your generosity! I was able to make it to my friends wedding, had the BEST time, & was humbled by your selfless act. I bet he's the manager by now!
