  • I've always passed by Vanguard Lounge but never went in. I walked by after dinner recently and 90s R & B music just brought me in this time...and the Music: Good Hip Hop and 90s R & B dance music has been playing consistently the last couple of visits and I love it. The DJs have always been solid and keeps the crowd moving throughout the evening. Bar: The bartenders I've come across have been always been competent with making the drinks. What blows my mind is on my two most recent visits, there was only one bartender at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. Mind you, I know that's early for Vegas standards but one bartender 16+ people and the service starts slowing down quickly. Maybe I got unlucky with bartender timing but I guess I'll find out at the next visit. Ambiance: Cements walls with murals from local artists keeps it smartly decorated. The shelf tables on the walls are cement and there's no place to lounge except at the bar and a couple of tables and lounges towards the entrance. This bar is pretty much one big dance floor which works for me as long as I have a drink in my hand. This is a smaller bar with a vibe that I LOVE to start my downtown evenings at then eventually head back later in the evening. They don't charge a cover which makes it easy to flow in and out of this slim but long bar with great music. I just hope that on my next visit, we have at the very least two bartenders taking care of the crowd. On my last visit, we waited 15 minutes then eventually left. I'm still a fan and we'll see what happens on the next visit. Catch ya on the dance floor! =)
