| - There is something downright charming about the Strip District. It's a true mashup scene, and I love it. There's restaurants of all kinds- high, medium and low brows of various cuisines. You have bars (divey to the cocktail), night clubs, luxury apt buildings, mixed with street vendors selling street food to Pittsburgh paraphernalia. You want fresh veggies, fish caught that day? Got it. Flowers, clothing, a super charming cigar bar?! My favorites though are the ethnic markets within blocks of each other. Counting in Reyna Foods, Penn Macaroni Co., and Salem's Market that also carries some Indian products. Mon Aimee Chocolat will change your life! There's more around I'm sure, just haven't yet discovered. It's a great area to walk around, compact enough to where you can check out all the establishments quite easily. Tourists are around, but I wouldn't call it a tourist trap. Most shops close early, so get there early, like before 4pm. The first time I went I wasn't all that impressed, but the more and more I go, I totally dig it.
