The Christmas Markets are a really nice way to ring in the holiday season. It's just that on the night I went (the last Saturday), it was PACKED. It seemed like the whole city had that idea. I liked the heated lamps and fire pits everywhere.
THE GOODS
There are lots and lots of goodies. I couldn't find the free hot chocolate so I opted for the mulled wine for $7 (of course I opted for the mulled wine). Though the line moved relatively quickly, there was a line for just about everything else, especially for the poutine and to get into SOMA. Matt Dusk singing was a nice highlight. I liked that you could wander the market but also hear the live music. There's even pork knuckle and schnitzel. Yum!
There are lots of vendors selling ornaments and other assorted goods. There's a few new store openings too including Got Style (now with women's wear!) and Mint, a really cute boutique away from the fray.
OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK
Nice idea but too packed for me on a weekend. I'd probably go on a weekday if I go again.
