| - I'm writing this review several years after I had work done by Classic Connections largely because looking at their website there have so few reviews, and they are being maligned in one that is unfortunate. I presented the shop with an unusual car. At a time that they were working largely with a garage full of Thunderbirds, my Studebaker was clearly other than their common breed. They perhaps somewhat reluctantly took it on, quoted me a price (perhaps higher than they expected I would agree to), and willingly worked with me to do what I wanted done. Ultimately they did more than I expected, probably faced more hurdles than either I or they (I suspect) anticipated, and came in with a tally that was within 10% of their original estimate. The car was marvelously well done - perhaps not of concours quality, but close. It was long in being finished, but delayed largely by acquiring the parts and information needed to complete work on a 60 year old car that was alien to their usual. In the end, I think they became as enthusiastic about the car as was I, and took pride in their work. With additional interior work, rechroming, replication of some critical detail items, et al. the car has gone on to win awards/accolades in local collector car shows. Some personalities in the shop can be episodically a little rough around the edges, but I'll accept that any day in return for quality performance.
