  • Took a weekend off to relax with my lovely bride and needed to get out to stretch the legs and let housekeeping do their thing at the hotel. Concierge suggested coming down to the park for a pleasant walk in and around nature. Took a little effort to get here which was probably a good thing otherwise I am sure the place would be overrun with hooligans and generally filthed up. There is sufficient parking to handle a comfortable crowd at the park; if the lot is full the park probably is too. The frontage appears well suited to blanket picnicking and there are tables in the main park too. You enter across a bridge on a broad paved path that meanders into and around a pretty excellent park and eventually get to another bridge that exits across the south fork main channel to a wee shopping center that could use a quaint soda shoppe with open air seating. Disc golf winds its way around the whole place past the fun and games described elsewhere (see Megan N & Stephanie M) There's a nice little pier off the south end of the trail for sitting and looking and thinking and maybe sharing a moment or two too. Please be a good neighbor and clean up after yourself so other visitors and the local residents can enjoy the park as much as you did! ...and report bad/destructive behavior to the local authorities.
