It's been a while since I last visited the Luxor Buffet and I was glad to see that the the whole place was rearranged. Seating is much more comfortable, with many small independent seating sections so the overall atmosphere is quiet. The soft lighting contributes to this effect.
Service was friendly and attentive.
The food was average to mediocre. Not a huge variety and overall most foods tended to be more on the bland side. There's Italian, Mexican and Chinese stations as well as more traditional stations with hot dogs and roasts.
The pizza is about as bland as it can get and so were the lasagna.
There were a couple items that I did enjoy though: chicken spring rolls and mongolian beef.
In the dessert station, the apple pie has a pleasant tanginess but the crust was bland. The cheesecake on the other hand was very filling and satiating with just about the right amount of sweetness.
Lunch costs about $17/person and dinner about $21.
While i appreciated the new layout the food is definitely not the same as it was about a year ago. Overall 2.5/5.
