My first experience with this jeweler was in 1998 when my husband purchased a $3,000 anniversary ring there. Next I purchased a ladies watch from them in 2000. In 2003 my husband purchased a diamond necklace with matching earrings. He paid over $8,000 for the set. A few months ago I called their store to see if they could change the battery on my Raymond Weil watch and I was told they don't sell that brand and the person who I believe was a Hamra did not sound interested in helping me. I told him I purchased the watch there and still had the receipt. I took it somewhere else for the battery replacement. In 2014 I had them do a jewelry appraisal on my necklace and earring set for insurance. They appraised the set at $11,000 for the necklace and $1,900 for the earrings. The necklace set has rarely been worn and today I went to E. D. Marshall to see what I could get if I sold the necklace and earrings set. They offered me $900. I also went to Biltmore Loan and was given a similar figure and the man there suggested I go to Hamra since they sold the pieces to me. They were not interested in the jewelry and told me it was outdated. I remember them being caring and polite when you are purchasing something. I feel they don't care about you if you are not buying something. Buyer beware before you purchase something there that you love it because it's not worth much when you walk out the door.
