Scammers!! These guys are part of the Costco Buying plan, how I don't know. I looked at the Costco site to see the used cars that were available. I came to a car that I was interested in and filled out the contact info. I was contacted quickly. They talked me into going down and seeing the car. The price on the internet was $16,999. I liked the car after I drove it. They contacted Costco to get the discount they were required to give. I was $500. They then wanted to charge me an extra $400. They then told me my Acura MDX was worth only $1000 when NADA said $3000 to $4000 at the needs work category. I admit it needs a paint job, but mechanically it's perfect. I understand they want to make some money but their offer was insulting. They wouldn't budge on the $400 or the trade-in. An Asian manager came over and told me that their cost was about $17,400 and they were losing money. So my question is; why did they have the car listed under their cost even before the Costco discount. I think the car is just a loss-leader except they have no intentions of selling the vehicle. The Asian manager is a jerk, rude, and full of crap. I got a call from the salesman the next morning and he said, "we're so close and he'd like to make a deal". I told him I'd pay 1/2 the $400, but he needed to get my trade-in up to $2200 still far below what the NADA book said. He said he'd call me right back. He called me back and told me that "we can do this thing. They can't move on the $400 and can't give anymore for the trade-in." So the deal was the same as the previous day. Stay away from this place. They think everyone is sucker and they try to use intimidation to badger you into making a bad deal. I'm sure I'll get some kind of canned response about how sorry they are for my experience. They can keep their sorry.
