  • Real Japanese food made by real Japanese people! So yes they are added to my safe to eat Japanese food list in Vegas BUT with all of the new ramen-yas that have popped up over the past year I would be hard pressed to come back here after our first and only experience here... I know this is a harsh statement but I have good reasoning! So hear me out my faithful followers. Trust me I wanted to love this place... Me and the gf came here late one night. We were the only patrons I the joint. I ordered karaage and Kim chee for starters, a bowl or shoyu ramen and the gf got miso ramen. The karaage was on point! I put my seal of approval on it as being legit Japanese. The same can be said for the Kim chee. For those who eat Kim chee on the regular can tell the difference between the Korean and Japanese subtle of Kim chee so kudos for that! All was fine until the ramen. First off it took 15+ minutes for us to get it after we finished the karaage (keep in mind we are the only people in the place) Girlfriends bowl comes out first and is a proper bowl of miso ramen. She is nice enough give me a taste while i wait. Noodles maintained a little firmness, the broth a little sweet but still rich and flavorful. All that was missing was a little pat of butter (eh don't knock it until you try it!) So I figure the same nomness can be expected in my bowl... Nope! I got soggy skinny tan tan mein noodles in my shoyu ramen. The error many have gone unnoticed by the unassuming gaigin (white person) whose only comparison is top ramen. But to a Japanese person this was a blatantly obvious screw job. It was like they gave me noodles from another order or screwed up my order and said he'll never know.. So sad to say I had a sad bowl of ramen. I think that they knew they screwed up because we were not checked on by the waitress till we were both almost done with our bowls. By that point the noodles would be soggy anyways. No point in crying over soggy noodles right? (Ancient Chinese Proverb) I quickly paid the check and bounced... Maybe it was a fluke but it should not have been done and for that I have to say I will not be back...
