| - My friends and I did a groupon high-tea offered at this location on a Thursday afternoon. For the four of us, it came to around $74 dollars.
We started off with tea, which came in a box that was passed down from table to table. The tea came in little tea bags that could have been purchased at a supermarket nearby. We were also explicitly told to only take one tea bag.
The baked goods and treats came in a three-tiered tea set. Numerous items came with it - creme brulee, curry puffs, coconut rice + sauce, macarons, scones quiche, mousse cakes and more. These are all bite-sized and I thought the non-sweet items tasted great, despite the questionable items in the set (i.e coconut rice). Overall, with the presentation and the quality of the items, I personally don't think it wasn't worth the $74 deal.
As my friends and I were leaving, we were (rudely) told that we had to pay taxes since it wasn't charged on the groupon that we already paid for. We had to pay an additional $10.40 before heading out. This did not include tips either. So technically, my friends and I paid ~$90 for this experience.
I would love to try high-tea again, but this was a bit disappointing for my first time.
