| - If you read my reviews you will notice I'm a frequent visitor to Vegas with 2 to 3 visits a year for the last 25 years. So, I've stayed in a wide variety of hotels since my early 20s and broke until now when I'm settled in life and can stay at places like The Venetian or Bellagio.
This is my first stay at a Vegas hotel with no casino and this one is located on the North side between Circus Circus and The Stratosphere. From that point, it is fairly isolated and a 3/4 mile walk to get to some of the more populated areas of the strip with more mall shopping, etc.
The hotel is very clean and the rooms are superb. Spacious, well laid out and with full amenities as most too hotels with the exception of no wet bar or snacks in the room. Of course there is a well stocked store in the lobby area that sells groceries, drinks and has a restaurant too.
The pool area is decent size and has a few smaller pools with several hot tubs littered around it. There is an adult only area with two large heated hot tubs that are the size of small pools of you want a quieter area. There is also a large area with 200 chairs or so that is for those that just want to layout and not be bothered by the pool play or splashing. The bar by the pool is small but adequate. One unique touch is that they have half a dozen BBQ grills where you can bring food from the store and grill out. They are in the pool area and open to all guests.
The overall atmosphere of this hotel is more business than party town like most other hotels in Vegas. In fact, of the 20 or so I have stayed at it's by far the quietest and most normal to the rest of the USA. In summary, if you are looking for a hotel with rocking pool parties and bars that are hopping, this is not your place.
The staff was friendly and helpful. You DO pay for Valet parking here which is a first for me in Vegas and the Valets are decent, not stellar. The entrance would benefit a lot if it had an organized entrance that separated limos, Valet, self parking and the drop offs/pickups. As it was, it was a cluster every time I left or came back and I always had to hunt for a Valet. Bummer for $13 a day.
Overall though it's a nice hotel but just don't expect the Vegas atmosphere because it's non existent here. For some though, that may be a relief.
Enjoy!
