| - Buying produce from the Farmers Market is such a no-brainer, I'm not sure why I don't get out here more often... We could easily drop $50 for one week's worth of produce at Harris Teeter. The same haul (only more local, flavorful and fresh) at the market is $10-$15, max. See? No brainier.
While we've never been disappointed with our purchases from any of the booths, my favorite vendor is Fat Boy. Their watermelon is the best I've ever had! I also love all the exotic, hard to find elsewhere stuff like Thai basil, kaffir lime leaves, bok choy, bitter gourd, etc. Oh! And don't forget to grab a beautiful bouquet of flowers. They'll only run you $10-$15 and last for days!
I wish hours were a little longer year round. And, that open Sunday's until 6pm in the summer really meant fully open 'til 6pm. When we stopped in at 4:45pm last Sunday, it was a ghost town with only a handful of vendors still open/selling.
