| - Vdara is such a lovely place. I've stayed here twice, once when it first opened and then another visit recently. All staff members I've encountered were friendly and went above and beyond their duties.
Arrival & Access: Turn onto Harmon, pass the Cosmopolitan parking structure, stay right and go up the ramp, then stay in the middle lane to get to Vdara. There is an area for rideshare pick-ups/drop-offs, valet, and taxis. There's no self-parking at Vdara and only valet available for $25/nt, which can be charged to the room and includes in and out privileges. If you prefer not to use valet, there are 3 nearby self-parking options. The 1st is the City Center/Aria garage. After parking, you have to walk through Aria towards the valet to an outdoor bridge that leads to Vdara. The 2nd option is the Bellagio parking structure. After parking, you have to walk through Bellagio to an indoor walkway that leads to Vdara. The 3rd option is to park at Cosmopolitan, preferably near the west elevators. After parking, you have to go up the elevators to casino level, walk a couple steps to the west valet and use the crosswalk and sidewalk to get to a set of stairs that lead up to Vdara. If you have a lot of luggage, drop them off first!
Check-in: There is an option to check in online using the link in an email sent the day before check-in. Upon arriving, go to the online check-in line and pick up the keys. If you want to inquire about upgrades or have other inquiries, you may need to stand in the regular line. The regular line was never that long, about 5-10 guests waiting at a time. During my recent visit, I had checked in online but still stood in the regular line when I arrived. Even so, it only took 15 minutes from the time I arrived at the Vdara entrance to the time I arrived in my room. No casino, nice fragrance throughout the hotel, easy access to elevators, and security at the elevators all day long.
The room:
My first visit, I stayed in the Vdara suite. It had a 1/2 bath (toilet and sink) next to the entrance to the room, which is great for groups or guests visiting the room. It also had a full kitchen with full size fridge & freezer, table for 4, sink and stove, a small living area with pull-out sofabed and TV, and a private bedroom with king bed and 2nd TV. The main bathroom had 2 sinks, a deep tub for soaking, and a walk-in shower. It also had a washer and dryer, which is handy for taking care of wet swimming clothes! There was a safe, nice toiletries, and robes & slippers in the closet. The view was of the mountains & City Center/Aria. I loved it!
My recent visit, I stayed in the Studio Fountain View Suite. It's the smallest room available with an open floor plan. Upon walking in, there is a kitchenette with 1 mini bar fridge and 1 empty fridge for you to put your things in, a 2-burner stovetop, sink, and counter space. Past the kitchenette is a table for 2 and the living space with a king bed, pull-out sofabed, and TV. The bathroom has 1 sink, a deep tub for soaking, and walk-in shower. I did notice this time around, the room was more worn out and bare than before. We had to call for extra blankets (for the pull-out sofabed), a pan, and plates & utensils. There was no robe nor any slippers in the closet. The shower, though modern, looked worn. I recommend noting down what you need and then calling for it all at once. Otherwise, you'll be calling constantly and have to tip each time. The housekeeper that brought up th3 blankets offered to set up the sofabed for us, which was a nice gesture but we declined. They do set it up beforehand if they know you will be using it. Anything you'll need for the kitchen, bring your own, such as oil for cooking, soap for washing dishes, paper towels, etc. When we called for the stuff at 2am, they came promptly! Very much appreciated.
Views: The view in the Studio Fountain View Suite (40th floor) was incredible! Cosmopolitan Hotel has one of the best views of the Las Vegas strip and Bellagio Fountains in its balcony rooms, but Vdara is not far behind with wonderful views as well. No matter which side you get a room on at Vdara, there will be a nice view of either the mountains, City Center/Aria, Las Vegas Blvd & Harmon Ave intersection, or the Bellagio fountains. Can't go wrong!
Fitness Center: spacious, but the clientele that Vdara attracts is very much fitness/health conscious people. You'll rarely find it empty, though there is a good amount of machines and equipment. Like other Las Vegas hotels, the fitness center is not open 24 hours, but instead opens 6am-8pm.
Pool: I never made it there, but my friends did. They said it was crowded, but they managed to find 1 seat that they took turns laying on. The pool was crowded so they couldn't swim freely. With one or two people, it should be okay but with a bigger group, I would rent a cabana. This is more of a family-oriented hotel than a party hotel, so people are up early exercising and going to the pool.
Still love it!
