AS Auto Care is the worst place to go and try to get any service or diagnostics performed.
A friend of mine took her SUV in to have a "check engine light" diagnosed on 6/25/18 at 11:24am, and was told by Raul the tech that it would be free of charge and it would take approximately and hour to complete. Well my friend chose to walk home and wait to hear from Raul. At about 4pm no one had heard from the tech Raul and was beginning to wonder what was happening and began to call to get answers.
On behalf of my friend I began to call and tried 3 times in 2 hours being told that Raul was out and would call as soon as he returned. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL.
My friend and her mother returned to the shop to retrieve the SUV and to find out what the issue was with the "engine light" and was told by Raul that he was really busy and was not able to do the diagnostics. That if she left the car overnight he would get to it first thing in the morning. My friend and her mother needed the vehicle that night and asked that it be returned so they could go on about their evening but was told by Raul that it was going to cost them 69.00 to get the car back.
Raul held the SUV as hostage until my friend was able to pay for a service that was never performed. I am not sure what kind of an auto shop charges a client a fee to do nothing but this one sure did.
As a customer in most businesses we are required to pay for services that are rendered. I guess Auto Care wants their customers to pay for leaving your vehicle while they decide when to diagnose your situation. If no diagnosis is rendered you still have to pay for the time your vehicle sat on their lot.
I am still waiting to hear from this company's theoretical regional manager named "John" whom I called looking for on 6/26. My guess is this company doesn't have a regional manager and are a bunch of liars.
So my next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau file a complaint then prepare to take these shysters to court.
