The two stars are only for an exceptional steak. Appetizers, customer service, and sides were beyond sub-par, particularly for the price. We asked for a sommelier and instead were delivered a bottle of wine that we did not order. It was fine, but not great. It took nearly 30 minutes to arrive after asking for the sommelier. The tuna tartar appetizer was swimming in a soy-based sauce. The tuna could not be tasted. We asked the waiter whether an empty oyster shell was acceptable. Without speaking, he took the shell in his hand from the table, then delivered another after several minutes. Our $50 steak and lobster combination with no sides provided a terribly overcooked lobster tail. Had anyone asked how my meal was, I would have let them know. Sadly, I was never asked. The mushroom side was also overcooked and swimming in sauce. The manager offered to let us choose two desserts as an apology. We were never provided a dessert menu. Two desserts that we would not have ordered arrived without comment. The list goes on and on. This was a tremendously disappointing $500 dinner in Charlotte.
