  • Finally to the point where I can write this. This is for the labor and delivery.... This hospital is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to (I have had 3 births before this) I am all about going natural, but if you refuse to have an epidural they don't provide you with any other forms of pain relief. They hook you up to monitors and expect you to lay there for an hour at a time, then unhook you so you can walk around, just to hook you right back up 20 min later. When I asked for a midwife, or something to help with natural pain relief they told me they do water births but I didn't qualify, because I was 37 weeks, not 40. And they won't even let you just labor in a tub either. My hospital in Phoenix told me I was ok to labor in a tub at 36 weeks, and provided me with the ability to move around after only 1 hour of monitoring, then no more hook ups after that. To my next point. I had told them specifically that I want no separation from my baby after he is born. They told me ok as long as nothing is wrong with him. He was born perfectly healthy. Then my husband went to get his family, and she gives the baby a bath, which obviously lowers his body temperature, then do all the monitoring, and leave him in the warmer to "get his temperature to a certain spot" and walk out of the room FOR AN HOUR. He reached the temperature in less than 20 min. I had to sit there with my brand new baby boy crying 5 feet away from me, and being able to do nothing about it. When the stupid nurse came back in she dressed him and wrapped him up then laid him back down, she didn't even think about handing him to me till I said something about it. Then they told me his blood sugars were a little low and told me I had to give him formula. Which we had also discussed was a no before hand because I EB which he needs to nurse in Order to get my supply where it needs to be. And they told me I could either agree to giving him a bottle or they would take him to the nursery for 24 hours and give him bottles the whole time he is there. So I said fine and they didn't even let me feed him the bottle either. Then they moved us to another room and we got a bit of time together, but they came in and took him for 2 more hours, for "blood test", but kept him because he was "grunting", he was making noise since he came out, my last daughter did the same thing and I told them he will make noise but he is fine it's not in his lungs he just want to talk. Which I was right. They tested his oxygen levels 3 times throughout our stay, and it was normal everytime. I didn't get much time with him alone till I got home because they kept having to do tests that were unnecessary. Needless to say I will not be returning to this L&D ever again.
