| - I'm not sure why my experience was so much different than everyone else but I am very disappointed with JTB Landscapers. I called last week and spoke to the owner, John, he was very nice and set up a consultation/estimate appointment for Thursday at 4 PM. at 3:59 PM, i got a call from a Kyle, who I assume is his assistant, to see if I would mind rescheduling my appointment...1 minute before he was supposed to be there. He said that the owner thought he would be able to make it but there was something that came up, an 'emergency' and that he had to reschedule. Fine- I can give people the benefit of the doubt. So after going back and forth, we settled on an appointment for yesterday, Monday at 9 AM. He hung up rather abruptly but whatever. Well Monday comes around and at 8:34 AM I receive a call again from Kyle, saying he was calling to make sure we were still on for our appointment. I responded yes, for 9 AM correct? He then asks me if we can schedule for noon instead. NO. We cannot reschedule for noon. I have a life, and things that I planned around his 9 AM appointment. He asked me if 11:30 was okay, I said no, we had an appointment for 9 AM. I told him that if he couldn't make the 9 AM appointment then to just go ahead and cancel. I thanked him for giving me a call and told him to have a great day, he proceeded to hang up without further word.
I understand that a good landscaper is hard to come by, I also understand that sometimes things come up and we have to work around them. However, calling me 1 minute before my appointment to reschedule and then cancelling again on the 2nd appointment? In addition to being rude on the phone? I don't think so. I guess i'll just have to take my business elsewhere!
5/31/2017- This is actually a follow-up to my past review. After posting the initial review, the owner Jon reached back out to me to fix the situation. We agreed on an appointment time same day and he came out on time. I was very appreciative that he wanted to remedy the situation. He definitely cares about his clients and is a super nice guy. He had some great ideas for the yard and even brought his spray paint to draw some lines on the ground ( we have bare dirt currently) so it gave us a better visual representation. The reason for the 4 stars instead of the 5 is because his bid estimate was quite heftier then another estimate we had received a few days earlier. Looking through Jons pictures, its clear he does great work. Regardless of what happens, i'm really glad he came down to the consultation!
