  • I want to start this review with letting you know I have been a loyal Banfield customer for 12 years and have 4 pets on their wellness plan. I feel the plan is a great deal especially if you do the dental and I have priced it out with other vets. We started with the Surprise Banfield which we loved and went there for about 9.5 years. We moved to Glendale but continued to go to this one until our vet left and moved to Cali. At this point we figured we would go to the Arrowhead Banfield because it was only about 5 mins from our house. We had nothing but bad experiences at the Arrowhead location and we continued going here for longer then we should have. The office staff has told me that this is the busiest location which basically means we will not be able to see your pet other then when you have a scheduled 6 month check up for the wellness plan. I don't know how many times I called to attempt to get an appointment for a sick animal and I was told they were too busy to see them unless I wanted to come in weeks later and that I should try calling around to other Banfields. One of my cats was on medication and we accidently got low on it. I called to try and make an appointment which as usual I was told they couldn't see her for 3 weeks. I asked if they could just write be a script to get her enough meds until her appointment and was told no that she would need to be seen because they need to do blood work. I do understand that vets do not want to just hand out scripts for animals they do not see. My cat goes in every 6 months for her wellness exam and gets blood drawn among other procedures. So it wasn't like they had never seen her or I called up after not being seen for a year or so and expected them to just write me a script. Docs will often fill scripts for a few days if someone runs low before their next appointment and I still do not understand why this couldn't be done. The lady I spoke with best option for me was to only give her meds every other day or so to make it last until her appointment. I found this unacceptable and it was the last straw for us. We had many other problems before this event but I can't go into every problem I had w/ this Banfield. I do think telling someone to not give their pet their meds every day is bad advice. Bottom line is this Banfield does not care about your pet and only about profit. They have way too many pets on the wellness program and you will not get good service. The plan is great and you are better off going to another Banfield. We are now going to the Banfield at the 101 and Peoria and we like it much better. The staff is great and they have time to see our sick animals. One of my cats is proned to UTIs and because of this I have her on the most expensive cat plan so she gets a urinalysis at each 6 months appointment. At her last wellness check at the new Banfield I was informed that she had not had a urinalysis since late 2014. So basically I paid for 1.5 years (almost our whole time going to arrowhead) at the higher rate for a service that she did not get and they never told me. I thought she was getting this procedure done every time. I understand animals can be unpredictable and this cat is for sure. To do this procedure the cat must have urine in their bladder and I guess she did not so I get that it was not possible to do the urinalysis. What I don't understand is why no one told us and led me to believe it was done. To me this is fraud and therefore the staff at this banfield are liars. When we were at the Surprise Banfield there were times they were not able to do the urinalysis and they always let us know. We would book another appointment and they would try again. I guess this office never told me because booking another appointment with them for anything other than a wellness checks is not possible. So stay away from this office and go anywhere but here! I wish I could get it zero stars. They do not care how long you have been a client or how loyal you are. UPDATE! Shortly after I wrote this review I was contacted by Nancy the Practice Manager. She took the time to go through my account and see where the ball was dropped in our care and talk to me about it. She acknowledged the mistakes that were made and gave me account credit for services we did not received. I really appreciated this and that she was willing to make it right.
