| - Honestly speaking, I did have high expectations towards this restaurant, but even if I were to not have such a high one, I would have still gave them the same rating. I would rate their service to be 3/5, since I felt rushed during my dinner. Their food is about 2/5, and the environment definitely is not for a fine dining.
Do not get me wrong, I did not thing that their service was bad, but I have had so much better in almost every single fine dining restaurant I have been to. It was the bussers who seemed to rush us. They would be taking plates that we are not even done yet, and they were pretty tough when taking away the dish as well. The server rushed us with our wine. We would take about 2 sips and the glass would be refilled again, which did not go with the pace of our dinner.
As far as their food, we tried their seared foie gras, which turned out to be grilled. It was dry, the sauce did not go well with it. It was a little too sweet, that killed my appetite for the rest of the dinner. Then, we also had their escargot, which was actually tasty, I loved the bone marrow that came with it, and the basil oil was yummy as well. I would say that it was a very well-balance dish. Then, we did not want anything from their entrees, so we skipped the entrees and moved on to their charcuterie plates. There is really nothing special about it. I could have got the same thing at Double Helix for probably half their price; however, I am paying for the experience not the food, I guess. We skipped their famous lava cake, since we did not find a reason to stay their any longer.
The dining environment was not that appealing to me either. It seemed like they just remodeled a penthouse and turned it into a restaurant. The lights were too bright. The view was not that great. Apparently, they only give out the strip view seatings to parties bigger than 4. There are many restaurants in vegas where I could get a nice view, Alize was not to die-for.
There are definitely many places in Vegas that gives you the option of nice view, good food and great environment. I would not want to seat at a cheap banquet metal chair, with rushing service and have a mediocre food. The experience was subpar for what I believe I should have got. I also believe, they should be including alcohol price on their 'minimum food purchase per person' as well. But for the most important, they should tell their hostess to cover more skin instead of showing off her underwear- very not professional.
Would I come back? I hardly doubt it.
