  • So last night, we went to try the fish fry. Btw, I've now been here 6 times in a month. I might have to move closer. Anyway, it was very crowded being a Friday, but the wait wasn't unbearable. Especially with our high hopes. We ordered the fish fry and the 5 chicken strip dish with a cup of clam chowder to share. The chowder came first. Honestly, it was only okay. Not bad, but not as good as everything else. It detracted nothing though, so my rating stays the same. I was worried that the food quality would suffer as some restaurants tend to when they are that busy. I worried for nothing! The fish fry came and hands down, kicks Crown & Anchor's sweet British arse. The batter was crisp, not overwhelming, and had excellent flavor. The fish was light, moist, and flaky. It was so fresh, no off-putting fishiness to be found. My bf loved it, and the portion was plenty. The chicken "strips" if you can call them that, were enormous and so tasty. The white meat was fresh and moist. Again, they nailed the technique of battering and frying. Yumyumyum. We'll be back for Beef on Weck. Stay tuned!
