My husband ordered a cake from here for a special occasion and it was the smallest one they had ($60) since it was just for us two. The cake was very pretty however the cake itself was very dry and tasteless, and burned on the bottom. Also the buttercream icing was also tasteless. When I spoke with the bakery about returning the cake for a refund they refused, only offering to remake the cake since they had already put in the labor for making the original cake. This was strange to me because making another cake would be the same amount of time and labor as the first one. This was also frustrating because the occasion it was needed for had past, and we really didn't want to try anything else from them. Per their request I also brought the cake in also to verify it was burned on the bottom and that we had only touched one slice of it. We agreed to have them make a replacement cake however changed the cake flavor and icing (thinking maybe another type would be better). Unfortunately the cake was just as disappointing. Although the bottom was not burned this time, the cake was again extremely dry and flakey, and overall it was not sweet or enjoyable. We order cakes all the time from high end bakeries and have no issue spending a lot on good quality desserts. Unfortunately this place is not up to par. Although they did attempt to remedy the issue by making another cake, offering a refund would have been better in terms of customer service. If you want something that is worth the price and delicious, go to Freed's.
