| - Okay, to be honest...I wasn't planning on visiting the shop.
(lots of cousins mentioned below, so don't read if you're wasted or easily confused)...
My cousin numero uno (no names, thanks) got his tattoos here and spoke highly (literally) of the place. I think it's because he's delusional and, well...high? They were decent. I don't have any tattoos simply because I'm not spending money on shit I don't need.
My older cousin (numero dos, for distinguishing purposes) is actually a tattoo artist himself. He works independently and just gave my younger brother a huge, awesome, FREE chest piece for his birthday that these guys would charge $2000 for - at LEAST.
My younger FEMALE cousin and I were driving around and I joked about getting a tattoo and she should come...and pierce this, pierce that. I mentioned getting my va-jj pierced and she said I would never do it because I'm a sissy. Well, we were in the area and decided to go and look inside Diversity. I'm the type of person who does something just because someone said I wouldn't or couldn't.
The girls at the counter are nonchalant, not necessarily bitchy. They were indeed high and very frank, but we were able to joke with them and talk about vaginas and they even let me look at pictures of genital piercings on their computer (hahaha). This made me feel awesome about my nether regions, so after being hesitant for like 20 minutes I signed the piece of paper and paid. I realized it was happening now - no matter what.
I was waiting for my turn because they bring you into this room inside the mirrored wall. Everyone in the shop knew what I was doing and they were saying, "You've got some BALLS." Um, no I don't. Lack of balls, thanks. It pumped me up though, and I felt good about it.
Side note: My cousin recently went to Big Bear, CA, and got a medium-sized, detailed tattoo on her ankle (with a bit of color and difficult shading) for $60. She asked how much they'd charge for the same tattoo and they said $400+.
When I went in for my VCH piercing he (Jerry) was blunt, told my cousin to shut up (she is annoying, but I paid over $80 for him to look at my vagina and poke a hole through my flesh, mmmkay?). I'm a sarcastic person and I understand sarcasm in all forms, but when you're between my legs and you say, "If you squeeze my head between your legs I WILL stab my way out," that does NOT make me want to let you near my...well, anything. I left feeling like he should have paid ME.
It was the best piercing I've ever had, though. In terms of healing, pain, anything. It only hurt a little bit the second the needle went through, and hasn't hurt since. It is AWESOME! I totally think females should consider getting one, and now my cousin and best friend want one.
Piercings are rather expensive here, but done well.
Tattoos are expensive for general work. I think they have a $60-80 minimum.
If you want to throw down money go see someone AWESOME.
Apprentices WANT to do a good job, but tattoo shops use them like cheap labor.
This place is no exception.
